Privacy policy

Ring & Rosette is a website and iPhone app for recording dog show results. It is run by Amee Morris in the United Kingdom, who is responsible for your data under UK data protection law (UK GDPR). If you have any question about your data, email support@ringandrosette.com.

What we keep

• Your account: your email address and password (stored scrambled, so nobody can read it).
• Your kennel: its name, its members' email addresses and roles, and any invite links you create.
• What you record: dogs (such as pedigree and call names, breed, sex, date of birth and Kennel Club details), shows, classes, results, judges' names and any notes you write.
• Pro: whether your kennel has Pro, how it got it (website, App Store or a gift) and when it ends. We never see your card details.
• Technical records: our hosting providers keep short-lived logs of requests, such as IP addresses, to keep the service running and secure.

Notes about judges are about other people, so please keep them fair and factual. There are no adverts, no analytics and no tracking across other apps or websites, and we never sell your data.

Why we use it

• To provide the service you signed up for: storing your records and sharing them with your kennel.
• To send the emails the service needs, such as confirming your address or resetting a password.
• To sell and manage Pro subscriptions, and keep the payment records the law requires.
• To keep the service secure and working, which is in everyone's legitimate interest.

Who else handles it

We use a few companies to run the service. They only use your data to provide their service to us:

• Supabase: stores the database and handles sign-in.
• Vercel: hosts the website.
• Resend: sends our emails.
• RevenueCat: manages Pro subscriptions. It knows your kennel by a random ID and your email if you pay on the website.
• Stripe: takes card payments on the website.
• Apple: takes payments in the iPhone app, under Apple's own privacy policy.

Some of these companies store data outside the UK. Where they do, they use the safeguards UK law requires, such as the UK International Data Transfer Agreement or Addendum.

How long we keep it

We keep your data for as long as you have an account. You can delete your account at any time from the Kennel page on the website or in the app. That deletes your login, and any kennel you own on your own with everything in it. Records in a kennel shared with others stay with that kennel. Deleted data disappears from our backups within 7 days. Payment records are kept for 6 years, as UK tax law requires.

Your rights

You can ask for a copy of your data (we'll send it as a download), ask us to correct or delete it, or object to how we use it. Email support@ringandrosette.com and we'll reply within a month. If you're unhappy with how we've handled your data, you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk.

Children

Ring & Rosette is not meant for children under 13, and we don't knowingly keep their data.

Changes

If this policy changes in a way that matters, we'll tell you by email or in the app first.
